To start off the day, Stop. Drop. MEDITATE! shout-outs from the Morning Crew echoed through the halls of Twitter.
The midday meditative meetup was led by @TheZenOutlaw at 11am PST/2pm EST. CREWmembers shared their flow or joined in for some guided metta on TinyChat.
Later in the day, the 'after dark' CREW will join in meditative togetherness around 7pm PST/10pm EST and 8pm PST/11pm EST. Check out the Twitter streams of @violetsblue and @queenj for details. Who is your favorite superhero and why?

Mine is Xena the Warrior Princess. She could kick ass and she had a witty sidekick, Gabrielle. Who could beat their schtick?? But umm... maybe Xena doesn't count as a superhero???

Checking with wiki-there are many women superheroes but most had minor parts. Shuliji -Xena is not listed but Gabrielle is-funny list!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up-I loved Wonder Woman but my faves now have to have more powers-Like Aeron Flux or Alice of resident Evil.
Oracle & Storm I like but my overall fave character & story line is Witchblade. She fights evil and promotes good. A bracelet seeks out the woman who is to wear it & grants her super powers. She is just an ordinary woman doing extraordinary things.

ReplyDeleteNo super powers, no "out-of-this-world" gifts that mere mortals can't obtain. Simply intellect and training, and the belief that he can do whatever he sets his mind to.
Great backstory, great villains, great mystique.
While I like all versions of Batman, I would have to say The Dark Knight era is my favorite - dark and brooding - the tragic hero! The Miller/Mazzucchelli collaboration on Batman: Year One is one I keep revisiting.

ReplyDeleteI was mad about Astro Boy when I was a kid. These days David Suzuki is my super hero. He may not be able to fly, but he does knock down governments & corporations with his knowledge, brain power & ability to articulate what he is on about.
