Hello dear CREWmembers!
The freestyle Dharma has been flowing with many impromptu shout-outs; the #OMCru is really rockin' and rollin'!
Today we'll get together at 11:30am PDT / 2:30pm EDT, so set an alarm and make the time to sit with the #Twangha.
Many of you have seen the small videos the CREW has been posting to TwitVid, we're doing it as a way to share small but important pieces of our lives with all of you as a way to better know each other.
Please join us by posting a small video snippet about yourself. Post it to TwitVid and be sure to include the #OMCru hashtag so we all can find it. ;-)
And just a quick reminder. This Saturday, October 30th, the Online Meditation Crew will be supporting one of our sister Sanghas - Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society - by taking part in their first annual Sit-A-Thon. The Sit-A-Thon will run from 9am - 5pm PDT and the Zen Outlaw will be representing the CREW during the afternoon meditation sessions.
Since not all of us can be present at the Sit-A-Thon, we want to invite the whole CREW to sit along by organizing relayed shout-outs between 1-5pm PDT / 4-8pm EDT, stay tuned for more news!
Of course, you can also share your practice at any other hour during the Sit-A-Thon, just be sure to use the #OMCru and #ATSit hashtags on Twitter so we can join you.
If you would like to donate, please DM the Zen Outlaw via Twitter by 10/29.
And now, our community-fostering question of the day is:
What is your favorite part of your town, city or neighborhood and why?
(Great opportunity for a TwitVid! *hint, hint*)
Much heavy metta! Enjoy the day all. _/|\_ :-) \m/
Still struggling with technology re twitvid. got my iPhone 3G to record video but can't yet get it to TwitVid. I'm waiting on The_Kamikazen to figure it all out for Gloria and then tell me how ;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't actually have an answer for this question. I like where I live - the house and the location - but can't say I have a fave part of town.
My favourite part of my town is that it's not surrounded by other towns. There's still open space in every direction.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I'm video illiterate. :)
My favorite part of the neighborhood id definitely the park where I run almost every morning and, when time and circumstances allow, meditate. I've actually shared many a sit with the CREW right from there!
ReplyDeleteLiving in the middle of a city one really misses nature, and having such a nice park so near my house makes it the perfect place to recharge when I'm too fed up of concrete and steel. ;-)
I really wanted to show you a video, but it seems the comments won't let me. Guess the link will have to do:

I am so fortunate for open space right outside my front door! The Land Trust of our area has designated the "5 Acre Woods" across from my house and on my street as a nature preserve. The volunteer committee is trying to complete an accessible trail but for now-all I have to do is sit on my front porch to enjoy it! Also, another park/preserve is within a short drive that does offer accessible trails. My dogs like to go there. When I am enjoying this setting it is hard to believe I am a mile from downtown.
